The flowering-stage phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and micronutrient component of THE SYSTEM.

KALIX BLOOM is a fully water-soluble 0-11-22 fertilizer engineered for the flowering phase of THE SYSTEM. Designed to work with KALIX BASE, BLOOM supplies the phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and micronutrients needed to build a controlled reproductive-stage feed program while BASE provides the calcium and nitrogen foundation.

Unlike a standalone high-N-P-K fertilizer, KALIX BLOOM contains 0% Nitrogen. That separation gives growers greater control over the finished nutrient profile because BLOOM can be adjusted independently from the nitrogen and calcium supplied by BASE.

With 11% Available Phosphate, 22% Soluble Potash, 3% Magnesium, and 9% Sulfur, plus chelated micronutrients, KALIX BLOOM is designed for hydroponic, soilless, drain-to-waste, recirculating, reservoir, and injector-fed cultivation systems where precise nutrient management matters.

Why Use KALIX BLOOM?

Flowering crops require a different nutrient balance than vegetative crops. KALIX BLOOM replaces the GROW component of THE SYSTEM during the flowering program and shifts the nutrient profile toward phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and essential micronutrients.

KALIX BLOOM provides:

  • 0-11-22 N-P-K analysis formulated for reproductive-stage feeding
  • 0% Nitrogen, allowing nitrogen and calcium delivery to remain controlled through KALIX BASE
  • 11% Available Phosphate to support plant energy transfer and reproductive metabolism
  • 22% Soluble Potash to support carbohydrate movement, enzyme activity, and water regulation
  • 3% Magnesium to support chlorophyll formation and photosynthetic function
  • 9% Sulfur to support amino acid, protein, and enzyme-related plant processes
  • Chelated Boron, Copper, Manganese, Molybdenum, and Zinc
  • A fully water-soluble dry formulation suited to direct reservoir feeding and concentrated stock solutions
  • Compatibility with professional hydroponic, soilless, drain-to-waste, recirculating, and fertigation systems

The result is a flowering component that gives cultivators control over the nutrient profile rather than locking nitrogen, calcium, phosphorus, and potassium into a single fixed formula.

How BLOOM Fits Into THE SYSTEM

THE SYSTEM is built around separate nutrient components that allow the feed profile to change with crop stage.

During vegetative growth, KALIX BASE + KALIX GROW provide the primary nutrient foundation.

During flowering, KALIX GROW drops out and KALIX BLOOM takes its place alongside KALIX BASE. PROFILE may also be incorporated according to the official feed program.

This separation matters because KALIX BASE supplies 14% Nitrogen and 16% Calcium, while KALIX BLOOM supplies the phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and micronutrients required for the flowering program.

Instead of forcing all major nutrients into one fertilizer ratio, THE SYSTEM lets growers change the relationship between components as crop demand changes.

Nutrient Roles During Flowering

Phosphorus

KALIX BLOOM contains 11% Available Phosphate. Phosphorus is involved in energy transfer throughout the plant and supports metabolic processes required during active reproductive growth.

Potassium

At 22% Soluble Potash, potassium is the largest primary nutrient contribution from BLOOM. Potassium supports enzyme activation, carbohydrate transport, water movement, and osmotic regulation—functions that become increasingly important as crop demand rises during flowering.

Magnesium

KALIX BLOOM supplies 3% Magnesium. Magnesium is a central component of chlorophyll and supports photosynthetic activity and numerous enzyme systems.

Sulfur

The formula also provides 9% Sulfur, an essential nutrient involved in amino acids, proteins, enzymes, and other metabolic compounds.

Together with the micronutrient package, these nutrients give BLOOM a broader role than simply supplying phosphorus and potassium.

Official SYSTEM Flowering Application Rates

The current KALIX SYSTEM feed program uses BLOOM at different rates as flowering progresses. These are recommended starting points for commercial indoor cultivation in soilless media under drain-to-waste irrigation.

Stage BASE BLOOM
Flower Week 1 4.2 g/gal 7 g/gal
Flower Week 2 4.2 g/gal 7 g/gal
Flower Week 3 4.2 g/gal 7 g/gal
Flower Week 4 4.2 g/gal 10 g/gal
Flower Week 5 4.2 g/gal 10 g/gal
Flower Week 6 4.2 g/gal 10 g/gal
Flower Week 7 4.2 g/gal 7 g/gal
Flower Week 8 1.5 g/gal 2.5 g/gal
Finish 0 0

These rates are starting-point references. Final rates should be adjusted based on source water, growing media, irrigation strategy, environment, cultivar, root-zone EC, and crop response.

Mixing and Handling

Direct-to-Reservoir Feeding

Add KALIX BASE to circulating water and allow it to dissolve completely before adding KALIX BLOOM.

Do not combine BASE and BLOOM together in dry form or as undiluted concentrated solutions. Calcium-containing concentrates should remain separated from phosphate- and sulfate-containing concentrates to reduce the risk of precipitation.

After each component is completely diluted into the reservoir, monitor the final EC and pH and adjust according to the crop and production system.

Liquid Concentrate / Stock Tank

For commercial facilities using dosing or injection equipment, KALIX BLOOM can be prepared as a concentrated stock solution.

50 L Stock Concentrate:

  1. Begin with approximately 12.5 gallons (47 L) of water.
  2. Slowly add the full contents of one 25 lb bag of KALIX BLOOM.
  3. Maintain continuous agitation for approximately 5–20 minutes, or until the material is completely dissolved.
  4. Warm water may be used to improve dissolution speed.
  5. Keep the BLOOM concentrate in a separate stock tank from KALIX BASE.

When using equal-strength SYSTEM concentrates, the standard flowering relationship is 1 mL BLOOM to 0.6 mL BASE, with actual application volume determined by the feed program and crop requirements.

KALIX BLOOM vs. KALIX 6-30-30

KALIX BLOOM and KALIX 6-30-30 are different products with different roles.

KALIX BLOOM 0-11-22 is a component of THE SYSTEM and is specifically designed to work with KALIX BASE as part of the SYSTEM flowering program.

KALIX 6-30-30 is a separate NPK Ag Blend intended for growers building custom soil, soilless, greenhouse, fertigation, and other agricultural fertility programs.

If you are following THE SYSTEM, use KALIX BLOOM - not 6-30-30 - as the designated flowering component.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is KALIX BLOOM used for?

KALIX BLOOM is the flowering-stage nutrient component of THE SYSTEM. It supplies phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and micronutrients and is designed to be used with KALIX BASE during reproductive growth.

Does KALIX BLOOM contain nitrogen?

No. KALIX BLOOM has a 0-11-22 N-P-K analysis and contains no guaranteed nitrogen. Nitrogen and calcium are supplied separately through KALIX BASE.

Why are BASE and BLOOM separate products?

Separating BASE from BLOOM allows growers to manage the calcium/nitrogen component independently from the phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and micronutrient component. It also prevents incompatible materials from being stored together in concentrated form.

Can I mix KALIX BASE and BLOOM together?

They can be used together in the finished nutrient solution, but do not combine them in dry form or as concentrated stock solutions. Add each product separately to water and allow it to dissolve before adding the next component.

Can KALIX BLOOM be used in hydroponics?

Yes. KALIX BLOOM is designed for use in hydroponic and soilless cultivation and is compatible with batch reservoirs, recirculating systems, drain-to-waste irrigation, and injector-fed programs when properly mixed.

Do I still need KALIX GROW during flowering?

Under the official SYSTEM flowering program, KALIX GROW is not used during the flowering weeks. BLOOM becomes the primary flowering-stage component used with BASE and, where appropriate, PROFILE.

Is KALIX BLOOM the same as a standalone bloom booster?

No. KALIX BLOOM is designed as an integral component of THE SYSTEM. Growers looking for a standalone high-phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should evaluate KALIX 6-30-30 or KALIX 0-50-30 according to their specific fertility program.
